1921: Henri Vancoillie sets up hotel café Coq d’Or. It consists of a café with three rooms and is situated at the corner of the Hofstraat.

1937: Henri Vancoillie acquires another building in the Hofstraat, which is now the present location of Hotel Bero.

1974: Together with his spouse Michel Bero, grandson of Henri Vancoillie, establishes the block where you now find the entrance of Hotel Bero.

1992: Hotel Bero grows and grows: building per building is being bought and completely renovated.

2012: Under the directions of Geert and Kris, Michel Bero’s sons, 35 eco-friendly Ecology rooms are built and the breakfast room has been fully refurbished.
